    Acme 644 vs 1248

    I have a 2001 SAN with the python. It came with two props, a 644 and a 1248 both are 13.5x16V R 1-1/8.

I only surf so would love to best use the python. Currently, the boat has the 1248 on it. I load the boat with two 750s in the rear (which siphon out halfway), 300 in the belly, and a 1000 lbs in the front...plus the massive engine.

With a gate I surf at about 10.5 mph and running about 2500-2750 rpm.

I knew the engine would not be friendly on gas but was hoping the engine would have so much torque that it may be fuel efficient and low rpms.....not the case.

Do y’all think the 644 and higher rpms might hit the engine at a more efficient rpm? What prop would you recommend?

    Thanks for the help!

I would call ACME, but it is my understanding that the 1248 is the same exact prop but about 1/2” bigger in diameter.
