2012 SAN 230 Team Edition Ballast controls

Can anyone tell me how the Linc 2.0 ballast system is controlled on these boats? Mine has the hard tanks and I’m wondering if there are floats in the tanks or if the pumps run on timers? I am looking to add ballast and contemplating piggybacks or replacing the hard tanks with large bags. If the factory setup uses floats to monitor the filling and emptying of the tanks I would hate to loose that if I went to bags. I would like to keep it as close to factory as possible. This is my first inboard so I’m educating myself. Thanks for any advice.

Timers best I can tell. Switched out to bags and don't really worry about tanks levels on the screen. I have to cycle the rear pumps twice to fill up the 1100s. The front runs until I turn it off, not sure why it's different.

Cool. I was hoping that was the case. What did you put up front?

I took out the hard tanks in the back and replaced with 1100. The belly tank stayed in of course and I was able to put a triangle back in the bow under the storage under the front seats. It was very hard to get that bag under the front storage, but possible. I think it is easier on the 2012 model.

How did you get the 10% discount? I take it you tied into the vent coming off the belly tank to fill the triangle bag. I am going to contact Wake makers tomorrow and put in a order.

Yep, tied into the belly vent. Getting the triangle sac in was a bear in my case, good luck

I have a 2012 210 with factory tanks and piggy back bags. Boat is new to me so I've been trying to figure it out myself. From reading the manual, I've come to the conclusion that the pumps are on a timer and the levels are based on floats or some other measuring device. Once my tanks are full, I have no indication of levels in the bags. If the tanks were replaced with bags, I don't think you would have an indication. I just keep pumping and look visually to determine how full they are. Draining is a pain because the tanks will drain and indicate empty then I have to wait for the bags to drain back into the tanks. It takes a while for the new quantity to show back up on the Linc gauge. Several times I thought I was completely empty and pulled the boat out to discover I still had water in the tanks. Now the water drains out the bottom of the boat all over the garage. I've been told that is because my impellers were bad and water was leaking thru them. I don't quite understand how that can be the case since the pumps are much higher than the tanks. Hope this helps.

Just curious, did you check your pumps? I really don’t want to loose my tank level indicator for the rear tanks. I wonder if there’s a way to plumb the lines to work more efficiently from the bags to the tanks.
