    Perfect Pass/NSS not engaging

So yesterday we were out surfing for an hour. We switch riders and try to take off with the perfect pass and surf system still engaged as it had been. The boat briefly accelerates for a split second until perfect pass engages. Perfect pass shuts us down to idle speed and no higher. I try to turn off perfect pass and control the speed manually. No dice. NSS won't engage unless perfect pass is on. I tried shutting it all down to reboot. No dice again. Dealer says the GPS puck may be shot, but can't get me in until next week AFTER a family reunion where I'm supposed to provide the entertainment. Ugh... 2015 230. Any ideas? I also got behind the bow seat back, unplugged it and plugged it back in to see if it was a loose connection. No dice again.

Maybe try the hard reset where you unplug the batteries for 10-15 min

Do you mean Zero Off ? it might not be ideal but you could try switching to RPM mode and run it that way until you get the new GPS puck.

Yes. I mean Zero Off. Hmm. Never thought of RPM mode. I'll look that up.

Had it happen intermittently, usually it is my GPS not engaging, speed goes all over the place ( I have videos of my speed guage jumping from 0 to 25 randomly while I am sitting still. Fortunately usually if I give it a minute it will work... Most of the time even without a restart. Hopefully the puck fixes your issue, please let us know if it does. Warranty or out of pocket?

I've had this problem for awhile myself since new, but it has only lasted a few seconds and hasn't ever done it for a long time. I chalked it up to the puck not seeing the satellite, but that's just a shot in the dark guess. Few months of warranty left. I was told it's a $1,400 part. One thing I noticed when testing is how after getting into the GPS status screen, the puck was intermittently picking up anywhere from 8-12 satellites and then going back to zero. Clearly working and then not working. No rhyme or reason. Came home early to wait for the UPS truck (like a kid waiting for the ice cream man in July) and test out the new one..... Next boat will have a paddle wheel speed control. Zero Off sucks in a river even with river mode.

                Hopefully you're working 100% now?

Update: It seems to be working fine now. It didn't seem to be working right at first, but as far as I can tell, it's good now. One other thing to note is my previous surf speed was always set at about 7.2 going upriver and about 8.4 going downriver. Weird... What's even more weird is the paddle wheel Perfect pass on my old 2005 SAN 210 had to be set similarly slow like that. Now, I'm setting it at 10.1 upriver and 12.9 downriver. So I have a question: Does Zero Off stop working at 13 MPH? It seems to shut off my NSS if I go over 12.9.

The NSS is designed to retract at 13 mph to prevent damage to plates and hull. It's a safety feature

Yeah that’s what I figured. Unfortunately, it’s a bit overprotective. It doesnt account for enough river current. It should be bumped to 14 mph.
