    Prop options for 2002 196

May upgrade from 1993 to 2002 196. Is it possible to get more front end power to get skiers up with less drag by changing the prop? The boat seems to need a little more power getting bigger skiers out of the water. I don’t mind losing some top end if it can get a bit more front end. Not going to be doing any footing so won’t need too end as much.

02 196 comes with the Acme 422 stock, and has generally been discussed to be the perfect ski prop for that boat. I pull kids through to large skiers with our 02 196 with the stock 422, and it performs flawlessly. Note this is on the GT40 motor, the info may be different on the 330hp Excalibur.

As far as comments - we really love our 02 196. It skis great at all kinds of speeds, from pulling the kids, to into shortline. Other then adding a bit of weight under the passenger seat, as often the kids are the spotters and need to balance the boat a bit.
