    Gs20 wakemakers

    Hi

I’m thinking of ordering the wakemakers custom bags for my gs20.

has anyone done this? Are they easy to fit? Was the new wave worth putting the bags in and loosing the back locker storage?

    pics would be great!

Yes people have done this with good results. Go ahead and get them you will not be disappointed and yes you will lose storage but the wave will be bigger and better. There's a trade off for sure.

      Did you get these?
Do you loose all of the locker storage? Are the ballast numbers for the LINC system accurate?

I ended up doing a diy version with some 400 pound bags, that still leaves room for life jackets and soft items to sit on top. My mate did the wake makers in his, that fills the lockers totally, i think the his boat struggles when all is fully loaded using the factory prop. I have not been on his yet but will be trying at some stage over the next few weeks.

Don’t do bags. Buy 700 pounds of “lead” weight bags (pop products) 300 under bow seats 400 in rear lockers spit . Best wake you’ll see. You also will need a 1617 acme prop for the extra weight. I have one for sale. Do this style of weight and keep your storage!!

mikenbike211 Do you leave the bags in the boat all the time? How does it ride with 6-7 adults in it with that extra weight?

Well we can’t just say “Don’t do bags. Buy 700 pounds of lead...”. It isn’t that easy. Yes lead shot takes up much less space, but you’re carrying that weight all the time now. Most likely this will negatively impact the ski wake.

Give Wakemakers a call. They switched from Malibu to Nautique for their own boats last summer, so they know the products.

Yes in a nutshell , steel shot bags are in no way good for your ski wake . If you are planning on skiing behind your GS 20 go for WakeMakers bags not steel shot bags

I did the wakemakers kit in my GS22. Well worth it. Wave is huge now. Just ordered a OJ 15x14 prop today.
