    Vertical rack knob fell off

Anyone with the vertical racks have the know fall offf? I was pulling the racks in for the night and the knob just pops off in my hand and falls in the lake. I sent the pics to my dealer who hasnt heard back from Nautique yet. I wondered if its removable or something broke off inside. I need to try and rig something up for the weekend. I have the older swivel knobs on my 2016, and the port side came apart. I just used a screwdriver to activate the spinner and use the racks, and then duct taped the entire thing in place for the day. Nautique covered it under warranty within a few weeks. Although, the dealer ordered the wrong model knob, so now my port side racks swivel back and hit my bimini, so I have to leave the rack swung out until they replace that and my damaged racks and bimini. I have experience quite a few warranty issues on my G23, and Nautique has covered them all so far. Hopefully your dealer can expedite it for you.

The whole rack just spins back and forth, doesnt seem like there is a spring it it anymore, do you know if they just unscrew? maybe I could go get a small bolt to use for now?

Yep happened to me. but I still have the knob. How does this happen? If there is any force on the vertical rack such as pulling into your boat house and hitting a piling or hitting the edge of your garage it puts pressure on these knobs wearing down the routed metal edge of the knob pin causing it ultimately to pull completely out of the swivel. I'm going to claim mine as a warranty item and I hope they cover it because a replacement swivel is +/- $200.00

Bottlefedsi : Hard to tell from my pin picture but if you notice the bottom edge of the routed pin has worn causing it to come out of the swivel . Same issue you are dealing with. Maybe the long term solution to this problem is that Roswell/Nautique needs to use a stronger type of metal to manufacture these pins vs the current "soft monkey metal"? LOL.

My dealer told me to always push on the rack before pulling the knob up. Helps not wear it out.

Mine has been doing this exact thing since the first week I've owned it. Warrantied 3 times already and it came out again yesterday afternoon.

That is a good point and you are correct. In all these situations, the pin routed metal edging starts to wear down by some type of force whether it is the rack hitting something, forcing the rack to another postion without the pin in the full up right postion, etc. None the less once the metal pin edges have worn down enough the pin and swivel are "Cooked and Done" with replacement as your only solution.

This is not a “wearable” item. This should be covered under warranty.

Crazyness....I have had excellent luck so far but this stinks, It so embarrasing putting a bolt and tape on my 175k toy. Roswell needs to redesign this so it can be replaceable at least. Still have yet to hear back from my dealer on what to do. I

I had this happen on a camp boat I was driving earlier this summer. I am going down to Roswell to pick up the new PN G23 soon, and I will ask them about this then.

It is embarrassing. At least your boat is usable. I have yet to have a successful multi-day trip (weekend or longer) without something breaking or failing. Sadly, I now have to carry duct tape, bungee cords and motocross tie-down straps on my G23, since it breaks so often. My dealer cringes each time I send them photos of my boat with broken items duct taped or strapped.
