Low RPM 2007 SV211

Hi guys, new to the forum and thanks for all the info I've read thus far!

I've recently purchased a 2007 SV211 and the family and I have been loving the boat. Coming from a pure 'ski' background using DD boats, I've been a bit disappointed with the acceleration of the boat.

Secondly, when cruising with ~800 pounds on board (people, gear etc.) I notice the RPM is only hitting around 4500 at WOT. Looking at the owners manual (and the PCM Owner's Operation manual) It seems the boat should be targeting in the neighbourhood of 4800-5200 RPM. Any suggestions?

The boat is running a stock prop (ACME 381).

Are you running the boat at a high elevation or anything? Which engine is in your boat?

The boat is being run at roughly 500' above sea level (just in Southern Ontario in Canada). The engine is a PCM 330.

The boat is a low hour boat and idles / runs well but just seems to be laking that last bit of power. Could it be a fuel issue not delivering enough fuel at high consumption? Otherwise, do these boats ever need the throttle cable adjusted to correlate the WOT to full power on the engine?

You said when cruising at WOT. Is that how you cruise? Does it hit higher RPM’s when it’s just you? I have a 2004 and honestly never pay attention to RPM and WOT because I rarely ever run like that.

Hi Homer...

No, I don't run WOT while cruising. This was more an exploratory observation when getting to know my new boat. Just found it curious that WOT was 300-700 RPM less than what the operator's manual said. Perhaps this is normal, but because I'm on the 'stock' prop would have figured that my numbers would have been aligned with the handbook.
