I searched but couldn't find any recommendations on what type of filter and how much of what wt. and type of oil to use for my oil change. Suggestions Please. Just bought the boat last month and am learning as I go.

MotorCraft FL1A is probably the filter you need. Also maybe straight 40w oil. Other pros will chime in if I am incorrect or other options are available. Try running a search too, much info on this in the "archives"
i know there is a delco filter that should work too.I don\'t care. -

onthewater is right on.
Lots of discussion over filters has been done in the past. The Motorcraft FL1A or Delco PF2 are good, Sierra mades a direct replacement marine filter to PCM specs too. I don't use Fram, Penzoil or K&N on my boats. The Fords use straight 40 oil. If you don't like to let your boat warm up before taking off I would suggest running 20-40 or 10-40w, let that 40 weight warm up before loading the motor.Comment
