So why do you need to protect down to -100? Do you live at the north pole?

I don't need down to -100, but I know that all of the -100 AF contains no ethyl alcohol. I was just looking for an environmentally safe antifreeze that doesn't contain ethyl alcohol.

The boat store that sells the -100 told me that is what they use to winterize boats because they can never guarantee that they get all of the water drained out before adding the AF. They are responsible for any freeze damage that occurs on boats that they winterize. Plus his cost is only $7/gal. So he looks at it as cheap insurance.

I'm perfectly happy with the -75.

I’m definitely more educated about antifreeze after following this thread . Had no idea there were so many versions to choose from

I just ordered the West Marine -60 purple, alcohol free. I bought nine bottles and got free shipping. I was ok with $5.99 per gal on sale until 11/25. It takes about 4 gal to winterize my 2005 SANTE 210 with the 375hp ZR6 closed cooling system and the ballast lines also. My boat is stored in N Idaho and the -60 has protected the boat!

I've used the Stabil -75 stuff from Walmart also for the past few years - works good.
