    ‘13 G23 Throttle shifter

I have a new to me ‘13 G23 and the throttle shifter is not as smooth as it should be to put in gear (forward or reverse) & back to neutral. The lock ring is not the issue. Has anyone had this issue & what did you do to resolve?

I’ve switched boat brands from Mastercraft and there was a small allen screw that would allow to tighten or loosen this & I don’t see one on the G. Just don’t want to start removing panels before coming up with a plan of what to look for first.

I think this is a known issue that was corrected on 14 or 15 g23. The shifter on the 2013 is just a hard shift. Takes a lot of force to go into gear and into reverse. Just something to get used to...

Remove the little cap by taking out the allen screw from the pivot point of the shifter, If I rembember correctly there a 2 more smaller allen head screws behind that. I found I needed to tighten those screws once every season to get my shifter tight again.

Yep. The 2013 shifter is pretty stiff. I drive my neighbor's boat a lot and I have to wiggle the shifter to know it's locked into neutral. I'm totally used to it now but it's not nearly as smooth as my 230.
