Older FCT tower bolts

I've got a 99 Super Air with a more modern FCT on it from another boat. (04/05) I believe.The threaded insterts that hold the two halves together are trashed. Looks like one side has already been heli-coiled at some point. The bolts themselves look decent but the inserts in the upper half of the tower are a mess. Has anoybody sucessfully repaired them?

Also, not a huge fan of the tower anyway... Thinking about moving to a rosewell tower, any reason I wouldn't want to?

I think Helicoil is the best solution I’ve seen anyone come up with. Not sure if folding it down is necessary for you but if not, you could have it welded permanently in place.

Kinda what I figured. Not real excited about pulling an old heli-coiil out and putting a new one in. Other problem is the tower isn't all that square so you have to force it together.

I'd throw a Roswell Aviator on there and be done with it. It will modernize the boat quite a bit.

I love the ones they did on their promo boat and the grey Super Sport with the modern windshield too. But, holy crap they are expensive. With a bimini that's a 5k tower.

Both items are still crazy expensive in my point of view.
