    Hummingbird depth and temp gauges

I am enjoying my new (new to me that is) 01 Air Nautique this summer but have problems with the water temp and depth gauges. They both are on when I start the engine but display totally inaccurate numbers - i.e. (water temp reads 48 degrees when I know the temp is at least 68 degrees) and depth gauge seems to always read 1.7 or 1.8 feet. I have read the troubleshooting guide in the manual with no success. Anyone have any ideas?? HELP!
    Thanks,
    HEEBS

i think the "1.5" depth reading is a Hummingbird flaw. but i also think they got bought out a couple years ago & now don't care.

Is this a problem with the Guage or with the wiring? I have the boat out of the water this week prepariong for a trip so I want to figure out what to do exactly. Not sure that I can get that Faria quickly enough for my trip, but it may be worth a shot...

Do you guys think WhiteLake would have a suggestion?

I guess my real question is this:

For people that have the POS Hummingbird Depth finder, like the one found in a 2001 Super Air Nautique, what did you buy to replace it. And was the replacement direct? I want something that does not require any additional drilling on my boat. Any info is appreciated.

I had this flaw multiple times. Sometimes it was the gauge itsef, sometimes the sensor. I think when the gauge keeps on reading 1.5 it was the sensor itself, but not sure about that.
Just replace it, it's a 15min job. If you can find some nice Faria gauges -> do it. The hummingbird stuff is crap!

                  Laptom, yes, Right. Correct.

If you did it, and it was a 15 min job, what guage did you buy. Thats the question I am trying to have answered here.

What Faria depth finder should I put in my 2001 Super Air Nautique? I do not want to do any additional drilling. If that means a transducer that sits in the bilge, I am fine with it. Still looking for specific reccomendations here...

Erik - I had the same issue and got Hummingbird to swap the gauge with the 610 model for free, the 610 fixes the software glitches that plagued the 600. make sure they send the adapter for the transducer cable as the connector changed. Its been functioning perfectly all summer since swapping it out.
