Throttle Assembly 1999 Ski Nautique 196

Throttle has become sloppy and isn't clearly in gear or in neutral. Wondering of it needs to be replaced or just adjusted. Maybe it is in the cable. Not sure. Boat has just under 1,000 hours.

It is not too challenging to pull out and rework. I pulled mine and cleaned it up and re-greased it and it's action is a lot better. This will also show you whether you need to buy a new one.
