Pulling wires thru FCT2 tower

Who here has pulled wires through their FCT2 tower? I’m going to be taking the tower off my 2001 SAN to blast and powder coat. I will want to run my wires for speakers on interior of tower instead of zip tied to the outside like it is currently. I have a fish tape and all that good stuff. I am more concerned about the path from the foot mount up to the top. I know I will have to come out of the tower and back in halfway up where the tower pivots. I was worried that where the cross members connect, it may not be an open path on the inside of the tubing?

Every year I contemplate pulling wires through my FCT 2 tower and I just never set aside enough time.

I have the same question. Any feedback would be helpful.

I have owned this boat since it was new. Since tower speakers were not an option back then, I also wonder how hollow these towers and legs are.

Can one of you post photos so we're all on the "same page" as to which tower you have? I'm pretty sure I know which ones is the FCT 2 but there was some confusion around that time as towers were changing rapidly.

OK, yes I know that tower well and my buddy has one on his 2001 Air. The only sorta tricky spot is right there at the hinge. You have to drill so the wires come out of the lower leg and go back into the upper leg. The rest of the way is open. The side struts where it says "Flight control tower" are welded to the sides of the tubes. The tubs are open. Same for the top struts.

Use grommets and plastic "wire loom" to keep everything neat and prevent abrasion.

This is on point... I used a wire coat hanger because it was easier than a bulky fishtape. All of the tubing is hollow... I drilled at the hinge points to go from bottom to top... at the foot base I drilled through the backing plate, top deck, and tower foot with the tower on the boat. Not easy to get into that right spot but it’s doable. I used the braided wire loom because I like the look more... harder to get wires through but I believe it holds up better too. Grommets at each hole and you’re all good!
