I use Poorboys products Start with Polish with Carnauba then EX-P Pure Paint Sealant and finally Natty's Paste Wax - Red. It is the best I have found will last a full season but like anything good its a lot of work . Expect to take all day its like waxing the boat three times but the finish is worth it.
Last few years I have been using Collinite 945 paste wax. Works well, goes on very easy and comes off easy. It also makes the boat look great and much easier to keep it looking good and reduces water spots, etc (black and dark blue hull, with some "metal" flake mixed in), the downside of a paste wax is that its not necessarily "long lasting" since boat is wiped down after each use....but after wipe down, I use a spray wax which does seem to extend it. Typically was in Spring, sometime mid-summer and at layup.
End of last year, I bought a bottle from Amazon, of the (Menzerna) Jescar, Power Lock + which is a polymer sealant. From what I understand, its longer lasting than a paste wax. One upside in my mind is that you can use this as a base...and then do the paste wax over it (after the Jescar cures), so in essence you get double protection.
So far I have been very impressed with it and it creates a very slick finish, super easy on/off application and I have found MANY uses for it (rims/wheels, surf boards and many other things) I did my wife's car last Fall using this and it still beads water well and makes washing or cleaning really easy 4 months later, online reviews say it tends to provide protection for roughly 6 months depending on conditions and UV exposure. I already did my boat trailer using this, but have not yet done the boat since I plan to do a full gel-coat polish before the season starts (I may be a bit OCD since the boat does not really need to be fully polished), just love how badass the black hull looks with a mirror shine and when the sun hits the metal flake, it look awesome! Gotta keep up with black tho, IMO its the best color/look when maintained and the worst if neglected cause of the work involved to bring it back to life.
Lot of good stuff out there, for most part looking at online reviews of tons of products before I bought the Jescar....its mostly deciding what works best for you tho to me at least, this one seemed to come out near the top in many instances. Longer lasting than paste wax, but of course less than the ceramic coatings (which seem like a waste of money for a guy like me who still works hard for every dollar and is willing to put in some extra effort myself to save some $).
