I made a bow filler for my boat and used HDPE (I went 3/4" thick but should have done 1/2" since the 3/4" is pretty heavy and it did not need to be that thick for such a small area) found a place online that I could specify the total length and width for them to cut it and ship. Used a piece of cardboard to get my template perfect and then traced on the HDPE to cut it out.
I would not use wood, even if its marine plywood or pressure treated
Thank guys! I guess my only concern about the HDPE was if SS staples would be strong enough go through it when i put the upholstery on? But i guess so.
Ya i have a template made already just waiting on the upholstery and foam.
