Vibration?

I have 2000 Ski Nautique. When we are going just over idle itseems to have a vibration. At faster speeds and Idle it is ok.

Would it have anything to do with the shaft? Or somthing else?

Is the vibration just in the steering wheel or the entire boat?

Assuming the prop isn't obviously damaged, look for any burn marks on it. They look like 1-2" long lines, more polished than the rest of the prop. That would be a sign of cavitation and that causes vibration. Also check WOT RPM. Anything other than factory spec would also indicate prop damage.

My 2000 SAN (GT-40) started the year with a pretty good vibration at idle and the boat seem to be short on horse power, expecially out of the hole. At first I thought it was the prop. It had a little play in it so I removed and got it back on real snug. The vibration, however, was still there. Next I thought - its got to be the old gas that sat in the tank all winter. 4 or 5 tanks of new gas later the boat seems to be getting worse - really running crummy at slow speeds - so I call my dealer. His first comment is check the plugs. Turns out my spark plugs were the originals with about 700 hours on them. I popped those suckers out, put in new ones and its as if someone droped a new motor in my boat. Very smooth at idle and all the hole shot power I remembered from before. The best part was that my total expense was about $20 for a the plugs and a new univeral joint socket to gain access to them.
So, if your plugs were OEM like mine - swap them out for some new ones. It may solve your issue.

The entire boat vibrates. The prop has no damage and is in good shape. The engine performance is not an issue. It is running just fine. It just seems at the right rpm it vibrates. I can live with it, but is this somthing that should be looked into more?

Did you check the strut bushing?
