I recently damaged my prop on my 2004 210. The Nautiques dealer swapped my prop for a reconditiond ACME 644 prop. The new prop makes a loud whistling (harmonic) sound between 700 - 1200 RPM. I don't seem to be having any performance problems, but the whistling sound is driving me crazy. Nautique dealer claims that all props make some sound, but I have never experienced a sound as loud as this. Does anyone have any suggestions?

RE: Whistling Prop Problem
My Acme 644 was silent throughout the range, so is my 1160. You can file the backside of the leading edges to sharpen them, it will probably eliminate the noise. I did that to both before installing them.

RE: Whistling Prop Problem
I had the exact same problem with my prop after having it reconditioned and got the same answers as well. Drove me to insanity- had to buy a new prop. I keep the reconditioned one as a spare however because the performance seemed just fine.'01 Ski Nautique
