'95 to '99 Ski Nautique: Carb vs. EFI

I'm considering purchasing a '95 to '99 Ski Nautique and I wanted to get some help and expertise from people with more experience than me on whether to go with a carb or fuel injection. I've heard that Ford is not supporting PCM on engines over 20 years old (and all of these would be in that category). Does anyone have any experience with this? I thought that I wanted the GT40 engine, but what about it's EFI predecessor? I spoke with three dealer service people today and got mixed thoughts and recommendations from each one! Very confusing. Please help clarify! Thanks.

I prefer fuel injection. Never had any issues. Easier to maintain.

I have owned several of each, and each have their good points.

Knowing what I know now, I would look for a GT-40. I have found them to be the most reliable and durable, as well as pretty easy to maintain and repair. Certainly nothing wrong with the carb engines. I like those too. I like the extra power that the GT-40 offers, and EFI sure makes starting the engine easy.

I had a 1998 Ski Nautique with the 240 HP non-HO carb engine that I loved, and now I have a 1999 SNOB with a GT-40.
the GT-40 is a nice step up from the base 240 HP engine, so I like that one a little better. I will say though that the 1998 240 HP engine had over 2,000 hours on it and was still running very nicely! My current GT-40 only has less than 500, but it was completely underwater and the engine sat full of water for months before I bought it. I flushed it out and dried out some sensors, and it runs very nicely now too.
