    GS22 prop

Anyone change there prop on there GS22. I added the wakemakers kit and need to change my prop now. The wakemakers site recommends 13.5” props. The Acme site recommends 14.5” props and OJ props recommends a 15”. All the company’s recommend between a 13 to 15 pitch. Just wondering what others have ran. I am at sea lever with the ZR4 motor.

following. I am at 6300 ft altitude. I changed the prop 3 times on my gs20 with the zr4. I finally found one that worked ok.
I sold that boat. Now have a 22 with the H6 and pro ballast. I feel this year will entail some trial and error with the props as well.
I kept the more aggressive ones from the 20; so I have a couple choices

So what props did you run in the GS20 and what did you keep.

I’ll be running a gs22 with the zr4 and 700# of lead and pro ballast. 1500’ alt. I’ll let you know what I end up with... I’ll be going with acme.

I don't remember the numbers. I have to get them down off the shelf.
          I'll post them here.

Just posting to "bump" this thread. I am in the market for a new prop for 2019 GS22 with pro ballast and the Z4 engine. I am at normal elevations (Lake Anna, Virginia) and i'd like to hear peoples experiences. We mostly surf and wakeboard. This is more important than high speed. Thank you.

I went with a OJ prop part number 951CM-MF. It is a 15x14. Very happy with it. Our boat setup is about the same.

Howdy, We went with an Acme prop for our GS 22 and we also run an extra 1600 pounds of ballast so I talked to the wakemakers folks and ask them to recommend a prop with a lot of low end to pull up a surfer when full w ballast . We are running a ZR4 engine and I’m happy with what we got I don’t remember the exact Acme part number but it does have a lot of low end and we lost just a little bit of top and speed but who really needs that anyway, right? The boat goes over 30 when the ballast is empty and we’re heading back to the dock which is plenty fast

I went with the OJ prop:

                  OJ WAKEPRO V4 1951 4 BLADE 15" X 14" PROPELLER

                  Item #: S54187

It should be here this week along with the ballast kit so I can’t tell you how good it is yet

Thanks for the info. I ended up ordering the ACME 1235 as that was on it stock with the pro ballast and it could be shipped quickly. I will be buying a backup and may try the OJ. Curious to anyone else's feedback with the OJ and surfing? I have a 2019 GS22 with pro ballast.

i have a '19 GS22 with the H6. The 1235 comes stock on it. I run Wakemakers 800# bags. At 3500ft elevation there is still gobs of power when full. I know the H6 is quite a bit more motor, but I had a GS20 with the ZR4. I also ran the 1235 with it. I did not have pro ballast, but at sea level the boat ripped. I don't think an extra 700 lbs would have hurt it. At altitude (6300ft), that is a different story

I wouldn't get the OJ as a backup thats a really expensive backup prop. I think the ACME 1235 is the equivalent to the OJ prop but just a little cheaper. Im keeping the old prop as a back up and it has one small ding that I'm not going to fix. I have the ZR4 and run at low elevation, I'll report back on the performance.

All - i am curious if there is anyone out here is a prop expert or has some guidance on a completely different prop. While the website I purchased the 1235 (14.25x14.5) said the 1235 props where IN STOCK, they never shipped. When i called, they said it was backorder and they didn't update their inventory over the weekend. This leaves me in a predicament of either being boat-less for 2 weeks, or swapping to another backup prop that a friend will let me borrow.

The prop is an ACME 537 which is a (13.5 x 16). Its specs aren't too terribly off the other prop recommended which is the ACME 1941 ( 14.5 x 15.5), so its not terribly off. From what i can read (and I am not a prop expert), this prop should be fine for cruising. I won't be wakeboarding, sking or surfing.

Its my understanding i just may need to be careful keeping the RPMs in range. I am curious if anyone has any thoughts, expertise or guidance on this.

                            who did you order from?

Call Delta Props. They may have it.

What is wrong with your current prop? It should be a 1235? Do you just want a back-up on hand?

I also think you have your number backwards when describing the props.

                            Diameter (first) X Pitch (second)

Just follow up on the OJ Prop I installed. Running 350lb bags in the lockers so an extra 700 total. Definite improvement over stock prop. Seems to maintain same speed but at 200-300 rpms less. Very smooth out of the hole and up to surf speed pretty quick. On the top end it was at 4700rpms going about 36.5ish. My buddy was driving I don’t know if it was fully hammered all the way. Seems to be a little better on the fuel. Ran two days and had 40% fuel left it’s usually less than that. All the performance gains were incremental and not really eye popping stuff but overall really happy with the result. Oh and it’s a bitch to get the old prop off lol
