    Perfect Pass on 2000 SAN

When I connect PP up in the engine compartment the boat idles way to high (3000 RPM +). The PP is causing the throttle to change position. Has anyone encountered this and resolved? Any help is appreciated! Thank you.

Are you saying that the servo is operating and making the RPMs 3k at ldle? Or is the servo not turning but you're still getting 3k at idle.

I would first consider that it is the second one, and if so, it sounds to me like one or both of the following are happening:

    1. The servo cable to the throttle linkage is binding up. It needs to move freely. Make sure it is not stuck to something.
    2. Your return spring is too week. PP usually comes with an extra spring (I found it to be too strong but the spring in my GT40 is quite strong).

If the above items are okay and the servo is spindling up so it runs at 3k, then I'd probably do the following before contacting PP due to a faulty control module or servo:
    1. Try changing RPM to inverted because maybe it's not getting a correct RPM count
    2. Do a servo test (done with engine off but PP on)

    After that I'd contact PP.

Servo motor is turning when key is on, no kinks in the cable, everything moves smoothly when turning by hand with the throttle out of neutral. For some reason, the servo is turning too far and moving the throttle. If I unplug the motor, the engine idles normally.

Hope this helps, but when I bought my 2002 Ski nautique, the setscrew on the servo knob was not tight, and it would spin slightly, causing all kinds of odd operation. Check that with ignition off, then wind it to ensure string is tight before turning on ignition.

there are a few troubleshooting videos on perfectpass.com site - they explain how to test the servo and other things.
