Hey guys,
I ordered a new Optima Blue Top battery which was going to be used as my starter battery for the season. Upon arrival, I realized the battery was damaged in shipping (see pics). The dealer of course said I could return or keep for $50 which is their scrap price. He said as long as I could store it in a waterproof container there should be no ill e ffects. Looking at the pics, would you guys agree with this suggestion? $50 is a lot better than $275, but I also want a battery that performs correctly and not risk damaging my boat if it started to leak when charging.
Thoughts????
