Hi Everyone, I'm just posting here incase it helps anyone else who has the same issue I had.

My issue was that the current speed reading on the WakeboardPro PerfectPass (factory installed on my 2005 Ski Nautique Super Air Team Edition, it’s the single line lcd display as shown above ) was always showing 0, or somewhere from 0 to 0.5 in the right-most part of the single line lcd display, and not the speed that the boat was actually doing (as measured by the dash speedo). I had replaced the paddle wheel over the winter because the old one had some of the paddles missing, but was disappointed when I first took the boat out this summer when I saw that the speed was still not reading correctly. I was able to use PerfectPass in RPM mode which meant the throttle control was all fine, so I figured the paddlewheel data wasn't getting through to the master module.

I read through the PerfectPass manual that came with the boat and in their troubleshooting section it suggested checking that the cable from the paddlewheel (located under the rear bank seat beside the fuel tank and the v-drive, marked 'airmar') was connected to the PerfectPass module correctly. I was having trouble finding where the master module was on a 2005 SANTE and so looked it up on planetnautique, I read a couple of posts and the most frequent advice was 'call PerfectPass', which I did this afternoon. Best thing I ever did! I rang the number on the (2005!) manual, and a guy called Gary answered. I talked him through what was happening and he was able to explain that it was unlikely that the connection into the master module had come undone but more importantly he was able to tell me that quite often if there was a voltage/current spike at any stage PerfectPass can end up not being able to read the speed so it just outputs 0 on the display, and that a system reset fixes that. I was delighted to hear that because it seems my old alternator had been sending spikes that had fried 2 ECU's on the boat. (more on this below*). Gary then took my email address and sent through instructions on how to reset PerfectPass, which I was able to do straight away and after that the speed showed perfectly and I now have Wakeboard mode back working again! I have to say, kudos to PerfectPass, amazing customer service, for a piece of kit that was factory installed on a boat 14 years ago, with the boat having changed hands a few times since then, that's the best customer service I've ever experienced (if you can call it customer service, I've never been a customer of theirs!).

    * the danger of old alternators: after I had to replace an ECU twice in the space of a year, a Mastercraft dealer suggested to me that I should install a new alternator because old alternators can send spikes through the system that can fry the ECU, he also said you should never ever jump-start a boat for the same reason, remove the battery and charge it instead. I changed the alternator and haven't had any issues since, so finger's crossed!

For the record, here are the steps to reset PerfectPass WakeboardPro (I think this only applies to the single line LCD display version as shown above):

    - You can do a System Reset by pressing and holding the ON/OFF & MENU Keys together as you turn key on to power system. Continue holding as the Perfect Pass display goes through its normal start up procedure until [System Reset ^ = Yes] appears.

    - Press the UP key to continue the reset. It will then display [Reset RPM @ ^ = Yes]. Answer yes by pressing the UP key. Next on the display will be [Read in MPH ^ = Yes]. Answer yes by pressing the UP key. Next [Wakeboard Only ^ = Yes] will appear. Answer yes, by pressing the UP key.
