I’m trying to do a steering cable replacement on a 07 236. I’ve finally gotten the support tube freed from the old steering cable nut after too many hours to get the clamp apart. Now I’m having a heck of a time fishing the old cable through the boat, seems to be stuck at the first zip tie behind the center ballast. I can’t figure out how to get behind the ballast to get the zip tie loose so I’ll have to remove the center ballast (no clue how without replacing a lot of old hoses) and likely have a similar issue around the gas tank.
Any recommendations on how to fish this cable out or should I cut the old cable and run the new cable outside of the existing z
