I have a recently acquired 2009 230 SAN Z06. I'm getting a low oil pressure warning occasionally when starting the boat. Pressure is around 40-60 when running. Any ideas?

Does it only show "low" occasionally or momentarily on start-up and then is normal? Have you checked to make sure your oil level is within spec? Too little oil is obvious, but too much oil can cause it to froth or aerate resulting in low pressure. Are you using the right oil? When was the oil and filter last changed? If all is within recommended specifications, it could be the oil pressure sender or oil pressure switch. though I would not expect either to work intermittently, I suppose they can.
If it were mine, I would do what I did when I received the P0521 code (low oil pressure) on my 2013 GM 5.3 in my truck - Add a can of BG Quick Clean for Engines, idle for 15 -20 minutes then drain and replace oil and filter. I use Shell Rotella 15w-40 conventional and a PCM R077001 Oil filter, but use what the manufacturer recommends for your engine. Make sure you have the right oil level at whatever attitude the boat has when sitting in the water. Good luck! -
If the message is only appearing when starting the boat, it is completely normal. Sometimes the monitoring systems come up before the engine actually starts and builds oil pressure. My 2005 210 will say it occasionally as well. But after about 3-5 seconds it goes away.
