2008 SANTE 220 - starter issues

Hi All,

I just launched my boat for the season this year after a long winter and I am noticing that when i go to start the engine it only engages every second or third time. The other times when it does not engage it is like a "click" as it if the battery is dead. ( the battery was fully charged). I am wondering what you think the issues could be and also if you think the issue could go away once i begin to use the boat more. Maybe some corrosion in the solenoid or starter or something that may free up.

I would guess corrosion on the battery terminals...Also could be a loose terminal. I would check all those basics first.

I wonder if these have a separate solenoid or if its built into the starter.

I don’t think it’s the terminals as they are new batteries and I have 2 of them and the dial is set to both. I hope it’s not the starter itself
