2010 SAN 230 Best way to access dripless packing????

I have a small leak and the most likely culprit is the dp. I would like to do some inspections and am looking for ANY recommendations or tips in accessing this area.

On my 13 I had the same problem and was a pain to get to. Ended up taking some videos with my phone to inspect and had to feel my way around blind to fix

D_no, I read your whole thread on your 2013 shaft to include pics and video. Thank you so much. Even when I pull the strbd. side curtain, it's still very difficult to access due to the ballast tank. Was wondering if pulling the one ballast tank would provide better access...and then how much trouble to pull said tank. AKA is the juice worth the squeeze? Any words of wisdom with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Gotcha...my tanks are out now. Not sure if they were removed when I worked on packing. Not a big effort to remove the tanks. Go for it
