Rudder Box Packing Rope

Thanks for the reply to my last post re rudder movement.
This is the weekend I will attempt to solve the problem, starting with dismantling and inspection of the rudder. Hopefully it will just be the packing, however I do not know what size Packing rope is used in the Rudder box of a 92 Nautique, can anybody help me out? The options seem to be 3/16" or 1/4" but which if either is correct?
Also do anybody have a diagram of how all the various bits fit together, the parts are listed under Rudder Assy on Skidim site but no plan on how they all go together, can anybody provide me with one via email?

call vince for the size. i wan't to try the synthetic type packing.

i'll look for a web picture, but just lay it out as you take it apart and take pictures.

search for glenwoodmarine. they have a few pictures in their pdf catalog.
