I have a 95 SN w/ GT 40. I recently replaced the fuel filter which was so clogged you couldn't blow through it. It was an in-line type. I hoped that would solve my engine cut out problems, but now I suspect the fuel pumps. I have low-pressure and high pressure pumps in series right after the filter.
Can a severely clogged filter jack up a pump, having to work too hard? What are the symptoms of failing or intermittent fuel pump problems? Can electrical plan a role in inconsistent fuel delivery?
How often do pumps need to be replaced?
Thanks.
