Can anyone help with this nasty stain on my engine cover of a 2008 216. I have tried all sorts of marine and non-marine cleaning products and nothing seems to help. The picture is a little washed out but its a yellow stain that is about 4 inches by 2 inches. Would bleach help? I just don't want to use it if it is going to mess up the vinyl.

Definitely not bleach! It will mess up the vinyl. Try totally awesome ( dollar store ) with warm water and a nylon soft bristle brush. Or starbright vinyl cleaner and see how that does. Follow up with a conditioner like 303 or boat bling vinyl conditioner.

I'll give that a try, with how tough it is I feel like it's something that has chemically stained the surface.

There is another post on here where a member used this stuff on a different type of vinyl stain.
ive never used it, but might be worth looking into.

Yea, vinyl pinking. I'm can't say one way or another if that's what he has here. The stain looks more yellow than pink but it's very difficult to know just from this photo.

I talked to my dealer a few weeks ago and they confirmed that the pinking never returned on my previous 2017 after I got it out of the vinyl.

I agree it doesn’t look like pinking, I was just giving him an another option to try and see if it helps in his situation with the product you used.

That does not look like pinking the way the pattern is. But..... pinking is not always pink. It can be a nasty dark yellow and light brown, like that color.

I tried 303 and no noticeable change, except the sounding area in now really clean. The pinking remover might not work as I am in Canada and it may not arrive before going bad.

The best way I can describe is it looks like a coffee stain in white carpet.

Happy 4th to our American boaters.

Ok the 303 is really a protectant and not going to remove stain it’s for after stain is gone to condition and protect. Do you have any idea what it is or how it got there? Did it just appear one day, Try starbright mildew and mold cleaner from Walmart

You could try some 70% rubbing alchohol on a Q-tip on the stain and see if any lifts off and gets on the Q-tip. Be careful. If it comes off onto the Q-tip, you may be able to remove it. Otherwise, the vinyl is stained.
