I may be searching for the wrong terms here but I'm in the process of trying to replace my dripless prop shaft seal. I've started removing the 8 bolts holding the prop shaft coupler to the v drive coupler. Once I have those out it looks like I'll have to remove the nut holding the coupler on the end of the prop shaft. It does not look like there will be enough room between the couplers to get any sort of puller in there, even moreso doing it blind. I fear pulling the v drive might be the next logical step however the pcm manual is not that big of a help here.
Has anyone done this job themselves? Any tips on removing the v-drive? I would assume that I would unhook the water lines, remove any bolts I can find.. and out it comes? Maybe? Is the gas tank in the way? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
