    2002 SAN Dual Battery Installation

I have a 2002 SAN with about 2000 Watts of Amps running off 1 battery right now mounted in the Bow. I would like to add an additional battery with an isolator switch. Can I fit another battery in the bow, or should I move the second to the aft and put the switch in the kick panel?
Has anyone done this modification? Where do the dealers put the second battery?

    Thanks,

i recently did this to my 98 sport. i left the main battery in the original battery storage in the bow of the boat, i placed a second deep cycle battery in the lower storage compartment in the bow at the very front of the boat. that was the only logical place that would be out of the way and keep both batteries close and since i only use that compartment for a small anchor.

i installed the battery switch just underneath the drivers cockpit. i also ran 2 new/seperate grounds with 2 guage wires to each of the batteries along with 3 buses on the side of the inside cockpit just behind the panel. 1 for the original ground on the boat and where i will attach my accessories ground, 1 for the positive cable from the alternator which will attach to the dual battery switch and the last bus to the deep cycle battery for a strait connection for my amps and other audio accesories. my amps also have seperate switches. this was rec. by the guys at bestbuys and circuit city as well as 2 buddies that are electricians.
