    There's no solid answer to that. "Maybe" is about as good as you're going to get. If you hit something hard enough then yes, you can most certainly wreck the prop, strut, drive shaft and rudder. My neighbor did just that 12 years ago. My brother hit a rock this past July 3rd wrecking his prop and bending his rudder. Strut and shaft were fine. You just never know.

    The prop is designed to bend and save the shaft and other components. Most of the time, it works that way.

      I hit bottom on my Supra at 30 mph only thing that was saved was the rudder. Inboard boats have no tolerance for bent or misaligned drive parts. Both of the hits on the 1579 were at 0 mph idle only and still caused years of vibration issues. I will stand behind my statement have it fixed once if it still has problems just buy a new one . Unless you feel lucky?
