Linc 2.0 screen not working on 2014 G21

Over the weekend when I went to start up the boat, the screen simply would not come on. I powered up the batteries like normal, and they have plenty of juice. The boat will even start fine, the screen simply will not come on and stays black. Anyone experienced this or have any thoughts?

Unscrew the screen from the front... remove and check/clean the connection on the back.

5-10 minute simple check that may save you a ton of time. Very simple to do.

Great suggestion. I’ll try it tomorrow when I’m back in town. Thanks!

Then if it still doesn’t work... FaceTime or video chat with your dealer service manager while you do it and let the service manager see it’s not working..... he may be able to fedex your a screen to fix and save you the trip back to the dealer.

So, the dealer pulled the screen and told me they were sending to Nautique and that they would reprogram it and fix it for free if I paid shipping. I agreed. They called yesterday to say the screen was just dead, couldn’t be fixed and that I need a new one. It will cost me $4,300! I am beyond frustrated to say the least. Anyone have any experience with this or suggestions for me on any other recourse? Thanks.

That's going rate for screen replacement. Insane price though. We are at Nautique mercy at any price now after warranty period on all this new tech.

My 08 with gauges keeps getting better. How much will it cost when the manufacture doesn't support that year anymore?

You’re correct, unfortunately. Very frustrating when you have to pay that for a glorified iPad. Come on guys. It’s downright offensive.

Well as expensive as it is, the days of gauges are over. Before we went to multifunction screens the "gauge sprawl" was already happening. Gauges down by your feet. No integration with the radio.

It had to happen. All of these boat manufacturers were forced to find a way to consolidate all of this information and control into a reasonably sized space.

The problem now is that it is double the complicated stuff that can fail...

The gateway boxes were a potential point of failure. Those were replaced with a combination of both power distribution modules and linc screens, not to mention key pads...so getting to be a few different proprietary items that are going to be problematic over the long term...

A $4k spend is a "bitter pill to swallow."
