    Depth Sounder

My factory depth sounder doesnt work on my 08 SANTE 220. The gauge blinks between ---- and a random depth that changes anywhere from 2 feet to 250 feet. The transducer is plugged in. Every now and again it will work at the end of the day but never at the beginning of the day. What's the fix?

Well on an 08 you're probably down to replacing parts. Hard to say if it's the transducer or the gauge. It'll be trial-and-error to figure out which one is bad.

I'm betting the transducer is cheaper so we'll start with that. Plus all other functions work on the gauge - air/water temp, etc.

Yea, probably. Please keep us updated in case someone else runs into the same problem.

I've got a 2005 Sport 216 and have a similar issue. About a year ago the depth would read -- and then briefly show a depth of a few feet. I replaced the transducer but that had no effect. They guys at NautiqueParts think it's an issue in the breakout box at the rear of the boat, which is known for issues on this generation of boats. All my other gauges are working fine, water temp, air temp, oil, fuel etc... at least for the moment. I have noticed my fuel gauge is intermittently off the past 3 weeks. For example I know the boat is full and it will show 3/4. Then in a few minutes it changes and reads full. Could be the sender in the tank or a further indication of the breakout box slowly dying.
