Anyone ever have this issue? I cant find anything on it after endless searches.
I think my rear output shaft seal is leaking on the underside of the v-drive. As you know its extremely inconvenient to get in there, so looking for some insight from anyone who knows about pulling and/ or servicing the v-drive. Its 2008 SANTE 210 with ZR6390 and Power Plus 1.48:1 v-drive.
Lets start with backstory... I just purchased this boat that had been left out in the rain with the plug in. Previous owner had a mechanic come out, who hit the start button and caused damage. A new short block was installed, tranny is fine, and the v-drive had a milkshake inside. I drained and re-filled the v-drive, and now I have oil in the bilge. Its clear, so its not engine oil, and its not tranny fluid. Now the entire bilge is oily water, so its hard to tell where its coming from at this point. When I reach behind the v-drive to the output shaft, its oily and nasty. I suspect this seal is the problem. I will eventually degrease and dry out the bilge and put something under it to see if it drips when not in use for positive identification.
I'm trying to find a parts schematic/ illustration/ service manual for this v-drive but cant find anything. I dont know if I can just pull the drive shaft out the bottom of the hull, and then reach around and pull out the seal and push in a new one? OR if I have to pull the v-drive? (on that note, would I have to pull the tranny AND v-drive?)
I dont know if the seal is held in by a retaining clip or cover plate? I think the seal is part #: R047249 here: https://www.skidim.com/prodinfo.asp?number=R047249
Anyone have a service manual or illustration?
I called PCM and they wouldnt talk to me- said I had to go through a dealer. Then the Dealer says they wont give me any parts illustration, as that's what a service manual is for and they wont share it.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!
