    Exhaust bypass

I have a 2018 g23 with the thruster and exhaust bypass. When surfing I can see the steam from the exhaust and smell it. It bothers me that it does this. I want my exhaust to go into the water not in my face. Does anyone else have this problem?

You can see steam coming from the bypass while surfing? That valve should be fully closed in that scenario.

It's to reduce cavitation of the thruster. During idle and slow maneuvers the bypass opens so exhaust gas is eliminated from the water stream allowing the thruster to operate efficiently.

But it should close completely above 4 - 6 mph. If not get it serviced.
