Hard to release tower 2019 GS20

Hi folks,

I have a new 2019 GS20 I'm having a little issue with. The release handle on the one side of the tower is REALLY hard to pull into the released position. Anyone run into this? Any suggestions?

Mine was/is like that also. Push the tower towards the rear of the boat and it will release. Similar to needing to push on the clamping board racks as well to seat or release them.

Thanks for the thought, but that isn't it. It even sticks when the tower is down.

Did you ask the dealer? Sounds like a warranty issue.

look at the mechanism itself, maybe something is binding inside? a burr on the the shaft?
lube it?
mine work well, but as mentioned above, I do have to pull back on the tower a little to disengage them

Yeah, going back to the dealer. Really wanted to fix it myself to minimize downtime... Did lube it, didn't help. Gonna try to de-burr the cavity.
