2003-2006 Nautique bad Faria Gateway box replacement with Nautique Parts Kit

For a 2005 SN 196, I’m looking at Nautique Parts gauges replacement kit that eliminates the Gateway Box.

Why the 25 foot long wire harness at the way to the back of the boat?
That is, if the Gateway Box is not being used, can’t all the wiring be under the dash?
Or, what’s going on the back of the transom?

Because that’s where all the wires come into the gateway box. When they are unplugged from the box and the box is no longer used, then they are plugged back into the ends of the new harness.

You can buy any analog devices to install them in the dashboard, and the wires that fit to the rear box to connect according to the wiring diagram. We might have to build some wires .
