Fogging fuel injected engine for winterizotion.

First year to winterize a fuel injected engine. Super air antique 2006 220 with the PMC ZR6 6.0
Do you fog the cylinders as with a carbureted engine? Any additives besides fuel stabilizer?

Some engine manufacturers suggest removing spark plugs and praying oil direct into engine, to avoid coating the AIT sensor. Or filling the empty fuel filter with 2-stroke/gas mix and run engine for about 30 seconds. CATs in the exhaust, is another consideration.

The general rule is no fogging through air intake with multi-port fuel injection or cats.

As to fogging the cylinders..... This is another one of those that you get mixed opinions on. Most will ask how long you plan to have the boat out of commission. If less than a year, leave it alone. If more than a year pull each plug separately and spray the cylinder for 1 - 2 seconds. Replace the plugs and call it a day.

I used to fog my previous throttle body fuel injected boat mostly because it was so easy. This year with the new multi-port boat and knowing that'll have it back in the water by May I just turned it off and proceeded with the list of other winterization procedures.

Only additives would be to treat the gas as you've mentioned.

I agree with above post. Over a year fog each cylinder, otherwise skip it.
