2008 Super Air 230 Heavy Duty Transmission

Wanted to pick some brains as to a posting on a 230 for sale. Customer says that his 230 transmission was replaced with a Heavy Duty Transmission. Can someone explain the differences between it and my stock 230 -- 2008 transmission? I've not had any issues but alway had concerns that pulling my hard tanks and adding 1100lb sacks could put a lot more stress on the boat/transmission. Are owners blowing up their transmissions because their adding too much weight? Just wondering - Thanks

I had to replace my transmission on my SAN 230 but i was not aware that a heavy duty transmission was even available. I got the old transmission back and when i open it the amount of metal shavings was very significance but the fact that they put a magnet in the bottom of the transmission indicates that they are expecting this shavings. Mi transmission looked like new inside exept the gears to activate the reverse. Those were gone but i can tell you that those gear were not beefy enough.
