    Ballast bag upgrade.

Has anyone added wakewaker bags to 230 2011 or older ? If so did it change your surf wake drastically? Looking at adding 2100 lbs. thoughts. Boats without nss

I plumbed my own solution similar to wakemakers piggyback solution. Nothing against wakemakers. I just already had the bags left over and some spare hose from my old Super Sport. I run two 800lb bags in the rear on top of the hard tanks. The bags don’t fill 100% but they fill up the space available. Up front I piggyback the 725lb Fat Sac underseat bow sac in addition to the center tank. Again it doesn’t fill completely up but it’s really close.

it changed my surf wave DRASTICALLY. I use that and the Liquid Force suction wedge. We don’t list the boat at all with this setup and run 10.6mph. We set the hydrogate different depending on who is riding. The amount of push and wave size and length is night and day different now.

I have 2 bags and the hoses for a G23 from wakemakers (1100 or 1200 per bag I think) that I was going to put in my '14 SAN230 after removing the hard tanks. But decided to just piggyback instead with smaller bags. So, if you need some bags and hardware, I have some that I that I would like to sell.

Yep, pull the tanks, 1100s in the rear, arrow sac in the bow. Still will want some sort of wakeshaper device though to clean it up and not have to ride listed. Amazing surf wake.

FYI, the arrow sac is a no go in the 2011 230. There’s no ski locker and they reconfigured the center tank a little so the arrow won’t fit. That’s why I did the bow seating ballast. It looks like you could maybe work a triangle sac in front of the center tank but I haven’t tried.

hal2814 dredging up an old thread.... i recently got an 09 230. we just added the sumo arrow sac under the bow floor. i filled with a portable pump, but had a bear of a time getting it to prime to empty. i'd like to piggy back it off the center tank. i have some wakemakers hoses and fittings left over from pulling the rear tanks/piggyback bags. would you mind sharing how you plumbed the bow sack?

            thanks

I followed the vent line from the vent hole. In the 2011 it passes right under the bow seats on the drivers side. I cut that hose. The side that runs out of the boat connects to the bag. The other side also connects to the bag but I added a check valve to it allowing air back in the system so the tank doesn’t collapse. Some people tie that check valve back to the vent. That’s probably the safest thing to do. I didn’t bother. I just leave the other end of the check valve open to the air. If it ever leaks, it will leak into the boat. I’ll take my chances.
