So my lift box got downed in the recent Seattle area rainstorms (didn't get it off the dock before the water levels surged up...grrr). Box spent a day and half underwater. Motor controls are shot and I will be ordering a new setup from Basta.
As part of the recovery plan, I pulled the pump and the 12v DC pump motor apart to dry them out and inspect them - all the internals look great. However, during the disassembly, the armature pulled out of the motor housing. Now I can't get the armature back in as the brushes have dropped down and need to be held back to slip the armature back into place.
It appears that the only way to do this is to remove the screws from the housing and slide the entire magnet assembly out. I looked all over the web and youtube but can't seem to find a clear procedure.
Does anyone have any experience with how to re-insert the armature? Worst case...I can buy a new motor but that seems like a waste as this one is fine.
