    HELP! Need Parts Boat Wreck

Hey everyone I was down at texoma last weekend and hit a stump at the north end! It is a 1984 ski nautique 2001, I tore off the rudder, bent the shaft, the rudder stabilizer is broke, and bent my prop really bad. I am going to buy a new prop from the same company as before but i was wondering if anyone has these parts, or knows where I can get them.

Best bet is going to be the local CC dealer. 1.5 years ago, the parts cost from the Austin CC Dealer were:
      1. Tunable rudder and rudder port $658
      2. Strut $300

      From other suppliers:
      1. Custom double taper shaft $170
      2. ACME prop $325
      3. Custom billit aluminum hub $110

I also had to purchase new tracking fins as all the underwater gear was taken out on the totaled boat I restored. Although the strut mounting was fine, the rudder port mounting was damaged and needed fiberglass repaired. I ended up reinforcing the rudder port mounting from the bilge side mostly by building up with fiberglass over a large area. Overall thickness of the hull at the rudder port is a non-issue. I did minor repairs from the bottom side. Good luck. I hope your insurance policy is covering the costs.

You'll need to have it realigned too. The shaft with the engine that it. It needs to be within .003". I'd say have it done right and give it to the dealer to fix it all up. But I'm all for doing it your self if you have the time, knowledge and resources. Good luck and I'm sorry to hear about that!

Today I finally got the shaft out it, it was like it was welded to the bracket on the tranny side. I found a used shaft and a guy wants to trade me the prop and 75 for it do you think that it is worth it or should I just go new. I also found the rudder for 290 new. Does anyone know where I can get a used rudder? Other than that I do have some fiberglass work but nothing big it wont be much. Just to let you guys know how my luck was running that day I was driving through southern oklahoma back home and my windsheild broke dont know why but it did I think my Texoma trips are overwith for a while! Thanks for everyones input!

If the prop you'd be getting was in good shape and is the pitch you want then it sounds like a good idea. Make sure that driveshaft isn't bent. $290 for the rudder doesn't sound bad, although I haven't priced them.
