Go-Pro for the Boat

IMO, I think Nautique need to update their software so it is compatible with the newer Go Pro models. If I am wrong please tell me so I can link up the go pro 8. Thanks!

I have a Hero 7 on the way to test. If that works I will either sell the 8 or hold on to it until they update the boat to work with the 8.

Did you guys ever get this working? I tried to get a Hero 8 connected to my 2020 this weekend and no luck. I followed the instructions very carefully, it just simply won't connect.

Yeah Nautique has done a poor job on Go Pro and Surf Select wrist watches syncing instructions with their boats. Way more informative information found on this forum about these two topics vs from your dealer and/or Nautique

Nautique has had a problem with Go-Pro since inception

I took my new GS22 yesterday and tried to connect a Hero 8. Finally reached my dealer and they confirmed with Nautique that the Hero 8 will not pair with their boat. They said it had to be a Hero 5, 6 or 7. Going to try my 7 tonight.

Did Nautique have an estimate on when the 8 might work?

They said that GoPro stopped sharing the pairing info with them starting with the Hero 8, so I am thinking never.

I had a 7, sold it when I ordered my boat and bought an 8, 8 won’t work I’ll have to sell the 8 and get a 7...fun!

Well that is no good about the Hero 8. Although I think someone on this thread got a Hero 8 to work. So maybe there is a chance?!?! This is when it would be nice if someone from Nautique was on this App and could confirm or give direction to some of their most loyal customers.

Maybe good news maybe bad, you decide. I bought a Gopro Hero6 black to test and it was 30 seconds at most to setup. Works perfect first try. I did not try a Hero7 because of several comments about it in the gopro forums with regard to wifi and I felt like the 6 would be a sure thing which it was but the 7 may work as well. What I think is going on the 8 is a battery management feature so the camera will only start the wifi from a bluetooth connection then allow you to switch to wifi since that was the only way I could get the wifi to appear. Seems like Nautique could accomplish this with some code but I guess gopro would have to support. Frankly no idea why gopro would not want this.

I have a 7, 8, and Max. Can confirm that the 7 works with my 2020 G. The 8 and the Max do not. It's a little frustrating that Nautique have no shame in advertising the GoPro features but they don't work with the latest models. I did notice that my linc system says its outdated in the system settings (even though the boat is brand new). I'm running Linc version: 20190716.3.424 which i'm guessing is from last summer based on the number. Maybe a linc update will fix the issue?
