    210TE Preventive Maintenance

What do you do before starting the season? Looking for other tips beside the normal ones like oil change, fuel filter change, impeller change, grease rudder. Thanks

I do everything in the fall so when the time does come I'm ready to drop the boat in with no additional effort. Things I do outside what would typically be considered winterization would be.....
    • Full inspection of all hoses belts pulleys. Tighten/replace as needed.
    • Full inspection of trailer. Flush brake fluid every 2 - 3 seasons depending on condition during inspection. Inspect calipers, tear down caliper and grease slides every 3 - 4 seasons depending on inspection. Lubricate all pivot points for actuator and locking mechanism, lubricate winch, trailer jack and any other component that has a moving pivot point. Functionally check lights and wiring for damage, replace/repair as necessary.
    • Full wash, wax and detail of boat and trailer.
    • Take cover to laundry mat every 2 - 3 seasons (depending on condition) for wash using Downy soap on cold. delicate cycle. Treat cover with 303 fabric waterproofing and protector.
This of course is outside the winterizing/maintenance processes. That pretty much keeps the boat looking well and operating great. I do all this in the fall which frees me up for getting the Tahoe ready for the tow season. With our current travel restrictions and "stay at home" order in place I'm on day 2 of an over the top detail on the truck. When I finish that one I have the wife's Edge and the daughter's Escape to do. Lots of clay bar, 3M Perfect It paint correction and general cleaning planned for the next two weeks. Quite a good way to fill the time while actually getting something useful done. Should have a great looking fleet come May/June......

Check ALL of your lights to make sure they're working. With the engine running, poke around with a flashlight. Look for anything that doesn't seem right.
