Just a thought... have you checked the battery cables. I had a starting issue with my 2006 216 several years ago. There was enough power that all the accessories, bulge pump lights etc. worked but not enough power to turn over the engine. I thought it was a failing battery. Not so. It was the original positive battery. The multi strand copper cable actually became corroded and loose inside the battery post clamp causing a bad connection. I had a new cable made. Problem solved. Just a thought

Was the boat used in Salt? None the less, it sounds like new battery cables would not hurt, for the above reasons. Sometimes you can not tell from looking but the stranded wire inside becomes corroded and loses the ability to carry amps.

OK, IT'S RUNNING!!!!! BUT STILL BIZARRE SITUATION
So I got back the PME box and the key pad panel from Nautique Parts (he testing them at NO CHARGE, nothing wrong) and connected them.
I then removed and cleaned the main ground connections (one on side of block and one at the back). I tried the engine and NOTHING....
So at that point I think to myself I'll just jump the starter directly and run it BUT then I thought about making sure I could turn it off!!!!
I started looking around thinking about how I could cut the motor if the main stop button didn't work. All of the sudden I notice a fuse box on top of the engine with a pic that says "starter relay". So I open it up....looks fine in there and I pull out the fuse, looks fine. I cycle it in and out a few times and put the cover back on (see pic).
I then go over to the main power switch and flip it down to bilge and then "all power on" (keep in mind I've done that 50 times in all this)
Enter the engine start code, hit the start button and the **** thing turns over and starts much to my amazement!!!
So in the end I really don't have a smoking gun but the only thing I touched after the last 'non-start' was that fuse starter relay and then that toggle switch...
Crazy, right.

Figured it out. I went to the breaker box. It was under the shroud covering the engine. I took out each relay and fuse. Sprayed WD40 in each seat and then resat every fuse. Boat fired right up. No issues. Great thread

Yeah, looks like we have the same boat, so I'm glad someone else had this same issue. Sucks that you had to go through all the actual labor to get this done, but in the end, we got our boats working again. Thanks again for all the details and pictures.
