2018 GS20 transom tie down help

Hey guys. Hauling a GS20 across the turnpike and was just informed my 2018 Boatmate does not have the optional transom tie downs. Can someone tell me what size to use? I don’t have access to the boat and I’m unsure of the distance needed. All I have are huge tie downs for my race car and those will be waaay too long and overkill. Thanks!

I don't have my trailer handy but I got something like this. I had to add them also as trailer did not come with.

I think there was already a spot to mount them to. If I remember right depending on the boa you have to hook them to brackets holding the platform.

Although when bought was shipped to me they want around the platform.

Do transom tie downs really do anything? I always use them but wonder if they really add any Benefit?

Of course they do. They help you sleep better.

Other than that I will let others chime in...I don't know for sure.

Let's say you have to really hit the brakes hard. The boat will want to come forward on the trailer and the only thing holding the boat in place would be the winch. The rear of the boat would shift to the side and you could break the winch strap. Same thing if you hit a large bump in the road. The transom straps hold the boat to the trailer securely.
