2002 SANTE replacement skin installation tips

I've ordered 5 of the seat base skins from C&S that had some wear to get things back to tip top shape, must say that the workmanship and material quality seem to be very good, now comes my part to get the install right.

I've read the install tips on their site as well as a few bits and pieces on the forums here but didn't really find a step by step guide. I installed my first skin fully knowing it may take a few tries to get perfect, the results were ok. I have a few ripples that could be/should be better.

    I did
    - use a steamer (as recommended) to get the skins pliable
    - take plenty of measurements and drew a bit of a map to know where things should line up
    - use morel staples so they won't rust

    I did not
    - trim any excess so I wouldn't have another shot
    - use a thin plastic sheet to help get things in place (it was suggested not to use this but I feel it may make it easier)

    Any tips/links greatly appreciated,

I really steamed and stretched before in place and after and stretched more, but for me......I had cushions that were older....03' and I had to add some filler due to them being a little flattened and worn out due to age. However, if you only put filler for example on half to he half moon part of the seat, you will see the separation of the two areas. So I would cover the whole area you are filling. Example: the whole half moon part of you seat and a little extra in the rear. Same around the 1" lip.....whole lip, not half or sections. Also, you can do it and check it out before you staple it. That might help. I did all mine a few years ago and it took a lot of experimenting.

I added fill and it's way better, almost perfect. I'm going to experiment a little more with how tight I pull it but am definitely on the right track
