    Deciphering Gateway conversion instructions....

In the process of the conversion on my 2007 236. The equipment and instructions are for 2003 to 2005 boats, with supplementary instructions for 2006 and 2007, that require modifications. Can any one help me decipher what exactly I am being asked to do here:

(Here is a link to the instructions: https://www.nautiqueparts.com/wp-con...erfectPass.pdf )

    1. Connector P2 – Gateway power a) Ground(black) and Ignition(purple) must be spliced and reconnected to the Gateway box to keep power supplied to it. Use spare connectors from extension harness if available to make connections easier. b) Constant Power (red) must be reconnected to the Gateway box

****The P2 on the conversion harness is female, the gate way needs male. It also has a brown temp wire. Is it asking me to remove the female end of the conversion harness, abandon the brown wire, and splice the black and purple wires into the pre existing plug?

    3. Connector P11 – Analog Inputs. Reconnect to gateway box. (do not connect it to the pinkish connector in the conversion harness) a) Remove the Oil Pressure and Fuel wires from the P-11 connector and connect those wires to the conversion harness. If you are not using the extension harness, it can be cannibalized for parts to make reconnecting things easier…i.e. remove the pinkish connector from the extension harness and use it to reconnect the Pink, Light Blue, and second Gray wire to the conversion harness. b) The gray tach wire must be split into two wires so that one tach wire can stay in the P-11 connector and the other ends up going to the Tach gauge.

****Again, the conversion harness is female. Is this asking me simply harvest the male end from the extension harness and replace the female end on the conversion harness so I can plug it into the gateway?

    5. Connector P14 – Paddlewheel and Water Temp inputs a) Reconnect to gateway box for the speed signal. b) Remove Brown and White water temp signal wires from the connector to connect to new 2” air/water temp gauge 6pin deutsch (see schematic for air/water temp gauge pinout)

***Again, the conversion harness if female. So harvest the extension harness male, but jump the brown and white up to the new 6 pin?

    Thanks in adavance.

I am in the middle of this now with my 2006. I had to take a pause due to missing Deutsch pins.

    I think I figured out # 3. and # 1 seems straight forward.

How did you splice the wires in steps 1 and 3.

#5 is still seems confusing especially the part about moving to the 6 pin connector.

    Thanks for your advice.

I was just cleaning up this on my 2006 20 as the previous owner made a mess of it. Lucky for me it has a new GPS Perfect pass so no need to keep the gateway. I still have the dash apart if there is anything in particular that you want looking at.

For connector P2, sounds like all three wires must be spliced black, purple and red. I have been using a butt splice with one wire in and 2 wires out.

For connector P14. I have two 6 pin connectors for P14 one that attaches to the wires coming out of the gauge (30cm and both have 6 wires) and one with the other new harness connectors (P11, P2). I think this should go with the other harness connectors and not to the connector close to the gauge, but that harness has three wire, not 2. Looks like white goes to position 4 and 1. Thanks
